Professional lens guidance
These lens technologies should not be treated as identical. BlueGuard and Lutina use different brand technologies and product positioning, so the useful choice begins with prescription, lens material, coatings, colour perception and individual priorities.

| Decision point | ZEISS BlueGuard | TOKAI Lutina |
|---|---|---|
| Brand positioning | Blue-light management integrated into selected ZEISS lens material options | TOKAI material technology marketed around selective light transmission |
| What to compare | Lens design, coating combination, reflections and visual preferences | Material availability, index, coating and wearer priorities |
| What it does not replace | Healthy screen habits or treatment for eye disease | Clinical assessment, UV precautions or treatment for retinal disease |
| Ask at fitting | How will the material and coating affect appearance and use? | Which Lutina option is available for my prescription and frame? |
Evidence does not support promising that ordinary blue-light filtering lenses cure digital eye strain. Breaks, blinking, working distance, lighting and an accurate prescription remain important.
Final suitability and local availability must be confirmed after reviewing your prescription, frame measurements and daily visual requirements.
