Same-Day Glasses for Tourists & Expats

International visitors often have limited time in Kathmandu. If you need replacement glasses before a flight, trek or onward journey, send us:

• A clear photo of your prescription
• A photo of your current or broken glasses
• Your preferred frame style if known
• Your deadline or departure time

Our team can then advise whether same-day or fast-turnaround service may be practical.

What Types of Glasses May Be Available Quickly?

Can You Use My Existing Frame?

In some cases, new lenses may be fitted into an existing frame if the frame is in suitable condition and compatible with the required lenses.

The frame must be physically inspected before confirming this option.

Broken Glasses in Kathmandu

If your frame is damaged, bring the glasses for inspection. Minor issues such as loose screws, nose pads or certain frame adjustments may sometimes be handled without replacing the complete glasses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you make prescription glasses the same day in Kathmandu?

Some standard prescriptions may be possible the same day when suitable lenses, frames and workshop capacity are available.

Can tourists get same-day glasses?

Yes, when the required prescription and lens are available. Send your prescription and travel deadline on WhatsApp before visiting.

Can progressive glasses be made the same day?

Progressive lenses usually require more time because accurate fitting measurements and specialised lens production may be required.

Can I use my existing foreign prescription?

Bring or send a clear copy of your prescription. Vision Concern can review it and advise whether a fresh eye examination may be appropriate.

Can you put new lenses in my existing frame?

It may be possible if the existing frame is suitable and in good enough condition. Physical inspection is required.

What should I send before visiting?

Send your prescription, glasses photo and deadline on WhatsApp so the team can advise on possible options.

Leaving Kathmandu Today or Tomorrow?

If you need urgent prescription glasses before a flight or departure, send your prescription, a photo of your old glasses, hotel or location and departure time before visiting. Selected single-vision prescriptions may be completed the same day when suitable stock and workshop capacity are available while we are open (8:00 AM–8:30 PM, every day). Progressive lenses, special powers and customised coatings may require additional production time. Confirm the expected collection date for your selected prescription and lens before ordering.

Can glasses be made from my old glasses if I lost the prescription?

The team can inspect and measure an existing pair, but a fresh eye examination may be safer when the old lenses are damaged, vision has changed or measurements are uncertain.
